after a night of drinking, partying, and good times, i come home alone. for pretty much the first time in a year. i guess it hadn't really hit me until tonight. i feel quite sad right now.

the dodger game last night was really fun, even though they lost. =( sad. there goes my streak. up until now, every dodger game that i've ever been to, they've won. oh well. it was fun just being there w/ everyone, all drunk and stuff. haha, we didn't even come into the game til like the 5th inning cuz we were drinking in the parking lot. michael and lawrence were even drinking during the game. then afterwards, we stayed in the parking lot for a long time, too, drinking some more. it was lots of fun! and watching the fireworks from the field was awesome! before heading out to the game we had gone to a couple of bbq's, too. ate lots of food, chilled. it was a damn good fourth of july, i must say. (better than last year when everyone shafted us, huh, emily? hehe)

and tonight it's my birthday festivities!! yay! more drinking w/ friends!! woo-hoo!

the weekend already started off to a damn good foot. first, yesterday we got to leave work at 3pm, AND still got paid for those two hours we didn't work. then i saw my older sister and my nephew for a bit, who was here for just a few days visiting from arizona. she should be on the road back right now. it was only for a little bit, but i'm glad i didn't not see them while they were here. then, the o2h crew and me headed over to a party back at usc, which was pretty cool. it was very chill, had some good snacks, and really strong drinks!! they had these tiny little cups, and still i was already pretty buzzed by the first one. by the second one i was downright drunk. i had one more to keep the buzz going, and that was it. it was a good drunk. good times. hehe, i was talking to rick earlier about how the same people threw a party this time last year, and the hilarity that ensued w/ the tim/anthony tag team effort to get that one girl. and i saw tim there, too, and we reminisced about that for a bit. so it was a pretty good night, kicking off the holiday/birthday drinking that will go on throughout the weekend, i'm sure. and today is a damn gorgeous day outside, no more june gloom!! yay! it's gonna be a bit toasty, tho, but i see some nice winds going. great weather for some bbq's. we're gonna go to harrison's and to skatebot's i think, before we all head to the dodger game. can't wait for the fireworks!! =)

at emily's request, i made a little wishlist. i did the same thing her and jen did for christmas, where it was a true wishlist (emphasis on wish), from which i really don't expect to actually get much. there are some realistic things in there, too, though, for those of you that actually planned on getting me something.

in no particular order (or rather, in the order in which they popped into my head):

1. honda civic hybrid
2. academic advising job at usc
3. roundtrip ticket to europe
3a. eurorail pass
3b. lodging (you get the idea)
4. cold hard cash (preferred in multiples of 20)
5. radiohead ticket
6. any one of these concerts (prefer the latin roots or world beats nights)
7. a trip to the getty (never been)
8. dinner at a nice restaurant that i've never been to (doesn't even have to be that nice, just a cool place i've never been to. could even be lunch.)
9. a study book for the gre
10. music...i already got the new radiohead album, and can't think of anything else that's new that i wanted. so mostly older stuff that i just never got: red hot chili peppers, californication and by the way; flaming lips, yoshimi battles the pink robots; beck, sea change; interpol, turn on the bright lights; foo fighters, any album (don't have any, if you can believe it); beth orton, any album (especially central reservation); travis, the man who; queens of the stone age, songs for the deaf; radiohead, amnesiac; hot hot heat, make up the breakdown...and i can probably go on and on, but that'll do.
11. a good book. surprise me.
12. laser eye surgery

and there you have it. i'm a simple girl, really. none of this should come as too much of a surprise. and like i said, i really don't expect much, so there's no way to disappoint. and shit, really, if you wanna give me a gift, i ain't about to turn anything down, even if (gasp!) it's not on the list. so give away, my friends, give away! ;)
