a bruise on my knee and a buzz in my head.

that's what i'm left with after "the accident" yesterday. the hit and run accident from yesterday. *sigh* i was making a left turn and a car just ran right into me. the force from the impact made me bounce in my seat and i hit my head pretty hard on the roof of my car, and i banged my knee in that area right under the steering wheel. i was pretty shaken up after it. i had kinda pulled over and was just taking a moment. then i got out of my car and saw that the other car had pulled over on the opposite side of the street. i saw them inspecting their car and so i turned around to my car to do the same. by the time i turned back around all i saw was the car driving off. there were some bystanders but no one thought to take down the license plate number cuz no one thought they were gonna drive off like that. i mean, they had pulled over in the first place, right?!?

obviously i'm ok. i guess i'm lucky. it could've been a lot worse. right now i still kinda have that buzzing going on, and the rest of my body's kind of sore, but nothing too bad. i haven't gotten myself checked out and i don't think i'm gonna unless my head still feels funny by tomorrow. my car's not *that* bad, either. the rear door on the driver's side is all dented up, and it won't open anymore. and except for some alignment issues, that's about it. i'm getting the alignment stuff taken care of, but i'm not gonna worry about the body work for now. but my uncle, who's a mechanic (who i was visiting when the accident happened cuz i wanted him to fix my blinkers which had stopped working the day before...which are fixed now, by the way), said that even if i wanted to get the body work done it wouldn't be *that* much, i mean, considering. but whatever. i'm not gonna worry about anything that doesn't NEED to be done right now. i left the car w/ him and he said it'd be ready in a week.

and that's that. my first accident and hopefully my last. i just keep telling myself that it could've been a lot worse. but i'm ok, and even my car's still drivable. so yeah...could've been a lot worse.

and once again, thanks to rick for being there for me. always around to help get me through my car woes. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

oh my goodness. it was quite a night around here. turned out to be a really loud, crazy party, which i thoroughly enjoyed up to the nasty nasty hangover. thankfully i was pretty much recovered by the time the rose bowl came on. USC won!!! yay!!! watching the game here was fun, too. it was me, rick, dwayne, and jordan who stayed on through from last night. deema, christina, and emily were here for the party last night, went home, and then returned for the game. and we had a couple new guests who showed up just for the game. all in all it was good times. we even broke out the confetti sticks when we won, which we forgot to use the night before at midnight cuz jordan and i were too drunk to remember. those were a LOT of fun!! anyway...the party. the manager came by, but only once, thank goodness. no cops. i think they cut us some slack cuz it was new year's. and the apartment was fucking insane! it was impressive, actually. but the clean-up wasn't that bad. jordan and i rock! but especially jordan. i was just laying around most of the day after, first recovering from the hangover, then watching the game. but jordan started picking up pretty early. then left it to watch the game. then we both got to it when it was over. funny how each time we have a party here we end up w/ even MORE alcohol then when we started. i think that was especially true last night cuz everyone got so drunk so fast, and then just left the rest of their stuff. crazy crazy. so then after the clean-up i pretty much passed out to take a "nap" and ended up staying asleep the whole night. that's why i'm up so early.

oh, and i just used my cell phone and it works!!! yes, i am now one of those people that have dropped my phone in the toilet. *shakes head in embarrasment* i wanted to make sure i knew when it was midnight, so i was carrying my phone in my back pocket, and of course proceeded to get ridiculously drunk and forgot it was in there when i went to the bathroom. and btw, it was BEFORE, rather than after!!! i turned it off and then it didn't want to turn on. the next day i tried again, and it did, but i tried to make a call and i couldn't hear the other person very well. but i just used it now and it works!!! woo-hoo!!! *whew*

and that was the beginning of my 2004. hope everyone else had a great time, too!
