i got my coachella tickets in the mail yesterday!!! woo-hoo! i'm so excited! it was definitely a big splurge, but man, i can't wait. i'm sure it'll be a lot of fun, especially since there's a big group of us going. awesome! i'm already planning on taking the monday right after it off of work so i can fully enjoy the second day. it'll be another little treat i give to myself. god, so much good music!!! words can not express my joy!! *grin*

last night we saw jason for a bit on his brief visit from his rural village in japan. awww. it was good to see him. one of his other friends had organized this big night out for him, and we started out at this sushi place in venice for happy hour. some random peripheral people showed up...gary, rich, blaise. people i don't see very often, so it was good to see them as well. i was talking to rich for a bit about good ol' cas, cuz he's an advisor there now (technically he's TO, but they work pretty close together), and he was filling me in on the old peeps. aww, i wish i'd gotten a job there! i told him how i interviewed there but i didn't get the job, and he said it was too bad cuz then we coulda hung out, cuz he didn't really talk to any of his co-workers for a long time. so it woulda been cool to kinda start out there together. oh well. so it goes...

anyway, afterwards we hung out at this girl's, becky's, place for a while watching music videos, which was pretty cool. and then after that everyone was gonna go out dancing. but jen didn't feel like going, so we came back home, and i pretty much resigned myself to staying in the rest of the night. but then rick came back from his own thing that he was doing and said that he still wanted to go, so we went and met up with everyone, and it turned out to be pretty cool. the music was really really good, i thought. it was my first warehouse-type dance party i've gone to. so that was pretty interesting...not having an actual address, just a vague idea of where to go, then walking around listening for the music to figure out where to go. kind of exciting, i suppose. but yeah, the music was good, and i had fun dancing, but it was SOOOOO hot in there!! seriously, people WERE taking off their clothes. i saw this one girl walking around in her bra. everyone was sweating, my clothes were sticking to me, and it was almost overwhelming at times. but it felt soooo good when we left and had the cool night air hit us. ahhhhhhh. so overall, it was a good time. i really wish i had more chances to go out dancing, cuz i always enjoy myself when i do.

anyway, that's that. everything else is same ol', same ol'.

talk about feeling old...i went to volunteer at the shelter where i go, and tonight a lot of the volunteers seemed to know each other. turns out they all go to the same high school! high school!! oh my god! anyway...it was fun nontheless. the kids are always so cute!! tonight there was this one family, three boys and one girl, and they were half japanese/half mexican (we asked the mom when she came to pick them up from the play room). and they were just sooooooo cute! the little girl especially. she was only 2, and then her brothers were 1, 4, and 5. awwww...damn little cuties! =) i just wanted to pinch their cheeks or something. but we helped them trace their hands, and then we wrote their names down for them on little shamrocks that we cut out for st. patrick's day. and then we all colored. good times, good times. =)
