*sigh* emily's officially gone. back to canada. i'm more than a little sad. =( posted at 1:34 PM fuck it's hot in here. i think i'm feverish. and i'm exhausted. ugh, i hate being sick. and i have to get up bright and early (even earlier than usual) to do it all over again. it's been so hard to get out of bed lately. man, bitch bitch bitch. ... posted at 10:02 PM i just found out at work today that i get to go on my first business trip!! awesome! free travel?? hells yeah!! i will be going to chicago in august. i'm pretty excited about it, especially since my co-workers always come back from trips with some pretty good stories. and they're a cool group, so i know it'll be fun to hang out with them. this is an awesome job perk! posted at 8:51 PM whoa...shock to the system. blogger looks completely different now. weird. i guess it's pretty nifty, but just very very different. i'll have to get used to it. anywhosies, so i kinda wanna go to this show now: BEULAH/ STRATFORD 4/ THE STANDS, Friday, May 14th @ 8pm @ the El Rey hmmm...i know i shouldn't, cuz i gotta work the next day, probably really early. and the next day would be the day of kevin's party, too, so i wouldn't really get a chance to rest. also, i just spent all that money on coachella. damn, all these reasons not to, and yet...hmmm. i think i'll probably just let it go and try to forget about it, cuz i know that i shouldn't go. but if there's anyone out there who was thinking of going, it wouldn't take very much to convince me to accompany you! ;) posted at 10:29 PM dear god....i am SOOO exhausted. but coachella was a blast, despite a few snags. it was hot as hell, but DAMN, so much good music!! =) flaming lips was hands down my favorite this weekend, although i wish they would have played more actual music. i really wanna see a full show from them now. radiohead was good as always, altho i had to give up standing in the huge crowd trying to get a look at the stage and just went to sit somewhere where i could watch the jumbotron and not feel so clausterphobic. the pixies, muse, belle and sebastian, and le tigre were all damn good as well. stellastar was a nice surprise since i'd never really heard of them before, but i really liked what i saw and heard. oh, and junior senior was definitely a highlight even though i only saw them do one song (their hit, "move your feet"). they just had so much energy and i LOVED their dancing!! it was pretty comical and great!! jen and i just happened to walk by the tent they were playing in as they were finishing cuz we were on our way to something else. we weren't gonna see them cuz we wanted to see beck, but we couldn't get anywhere near even the entrance to the tent where he was playing. =( that was a big disappointment, not being able to see him, cuz behind the flaming lips, he was the act i wanted to see most, cuz i'd never seen him before. i met a guy later who said he was actually able to get inside the tent and said he was really good; one of HIS favorites of the weekend. =( i'm really bummed i didn't get to see him. oh, and i also missed black rebel motorcycle club, cuz i think they conflicted w/ the flaming lips, or were too close to their set that i wanted to make sure i was already at the stage where the lips were gonna play so i could get a good spot. oh, and basement jaxx. we ran into ryan maples and he said they were really good. =( oh, and i also missed crystal method! *sigh* there was just too much!! but i had a good fill, i have to say. after it's all said and done, despite the unbearable heat, the conflicts in set times between bands i wanted to see, the ridiculous prices, the feeling gross from camping out and not being able to shower, plus all the dust and sweat, it was a damn good weekend for the MUSIC. *happy sigh* =) ps: THANK YOU JEN for getting me through that first day. i had a couple of bad episodes that could have made my whole day pretty miserable if it wasn't for you looking out for me. thank you!!! posted at 6:47 PM
